The SAM Initiative

The SAM Initiative

The SAM Initiative, a fund of the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles (JCF),
is a giving circle whose mission is to serve as a catalyst to improve the lives of
women, children, and families in Los Angeles through engaged philanthropy. We educate
and engage donors by investing in nonprofit organizations that reflect our passions
and address the most pressing needs in our community. As a giving circle, we pool
our financial resources and expertise to drive social change and nonprofit sustainability.

Membership dues are $5,000. These dues support SAM’s grantmaking.
Additional contributions to support operations or to support grantmaking in a more
significant way are appreciated! Please note The Foundation charges is a 5% administrative
fee on all contributions.

WAYS TO GIVE:
Donors with JCF Funds:
Use your donor services online portal to transfer funds from your Donor Advised Fund into the SAM Initiative Fund. Enter a grant to JCF with “SAM Initiative” in the notes section.

Transfer funds from another DAF:
Transfer funds to the Jewish Community Foundation. Include “SAM Initiative”
in the notes/details.

Write a check:

Tax receipts for online donations are available immediately via email and download. Credit card donations incur a convenience fee of 3%, although the entire credit card donation amount is tax-deductible. For example, for a $100 credit card donation, $97 will go to the Fund, $3 will pay our processing vendor and $100 will be listed as a tax-deductible donation on your tax receipt.
